ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PERMITTING PROCESS IN AFIGYA KWABRE NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
1.1 ACTIVITIES THAT REQUIRE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT INCLUDE:
All physical development involving the erection of any structure, making of structural alteration or transformation of any structure,
execution of any works or installation of any fittings in connection with any structure, engineering, mining or other operations on, in,
under or over land or the material change in the existing use of land or building comprising among others the sub-division of land,
disposal of waste on land including the discharge of effluent into a body of still or running water and the erection of an advertisement
or other hoarding among others shall require a development permit. Act 480, Section 48; Act 936, Sections 91 (1) & 106 (1) and Act
925 Sections 113 & 117 (1&2);
1.2. STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS FOR A DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
1.2.1. Submit the documents listed below to the Physical Planning Department for preliminary vetting.
i). Land ownership document (example allocation note, lease etc)
ii). A site plan with a scale of 1:2500
iii). Land Use Certificate
iv). Current Stool lands receipt of payment
v). Attach four copies of architectural drawings signed by a certified architect
vi). Attach four copies of structural drawings signed by an engineer (if stor ey)
vii.) Fire certified report from the Ghana National Fire Service ( If commercial)
viii.) Environmental Protection Agency Permit (for Public/commercial developments)
Note: The cost of the development permit is determined after assessment by the District Engineer

The District's Household Toilet Team under the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (GKMA) Sanitation & Water Project (SWP) embarked on a door-to-door education exercise at Amoako to educate the citizens on the adverse effects of open defecation and advertise the GKMA SWP sponsored heavily subsidized Household Toilet Facilities.
The BECE 2023 starts on Monday, 7th August, 2023 to Friday, 11th August, 2023. This comprises eight hundred and fifteen girls and eight hundred and thirty one boys.
