The District's Household Toilet Team under the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (GKMA) Sanitation & Water Project (SWP) embarked on a door-to-door education exercise at Amoako to educate the citizens on the adverse effects of open defecation and advertise the GKMA SWP sponsored heavily subsidized Household Toilet Facilities.

The BECE 2023 starts on Monday, 7th August, 2023 to Friday, 11th August, 2023. A total number of one thousand, six hundred and forty-six (1646) JHS candidates in the Afigya Kwabre North District will be participating in the exams. This comprises eight hundred and fifteen girls and eight hundred and thirty one boys.

The Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly on Monday, 10th July, 2023 held a brief ceremony to present award certificates signed by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo to frontline health and allied workers in the fight against the covid 19 few years back.

In our bid to meet the developmental needs of the good people of Afigya Kwabre North, the District Assembly on Friday, 14th July 2023 held a successful commissioning of a newly constructed 6-unit classroom block at Kyekyewere D/A Primary School. The project which was funded by GETFund is one of the few state-of-the-art facilities designed with spacious classrooms to accommodate the growing student population and provide a conducive learning environment for students.

The Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly in collaboration with the Member of Parliament, Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah on Monday, 3rd July, 2023 commissioned a 2no. 10-seater water closet toilet with mechanized borehole and overhead tank at Penteng and Esaase.
The project seeks to achieve government’s agenda to eliminate open defecation by improving accessibility of toilet facilities and other sanitary conditions for all towards the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6.2).

On the 26th June, 2023 the DCE for Afigya Kwabre North, Hon. Kwasi Karikari Achamfuor led the Presidential Advisor on Health Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare and his team to the site of Agenda 111 to inspect the ongoing project.

The programme was implemented to create awareness on the importance of organizing mock examination for students at the JHS to prepare them for their final examination. This programme was used as a medium of educating all parents and guardians on the reasons why they should support their wards to participate in the mock examination.
